Support Locked-out Molson Coors Workers

In partnership with NUPGE, the National Union of Public and General Employees represents over 390,000 members in the public and private sectors across Canada. CUBGW represents 300 members at the Molson Coors brewery in Toronto. CUBGW is a Component of NUPGE.

Corporate beer giant Molson Coors is at it again. This time they’ve locked out members of the Canadian Union of Brewery and General Workers (CUBGW), a Component of the National Union of Public and General Employees (NUPGE).

These are the same workers who had to strike in 2017 to fight off concessions and now, Molson Coors is continuing its divisive agenda in a race to the bottom for wages, pensions and scheduling.

These CUBGW/NUPGE members need your help!

This is the 3rd round of concessionary bargaining that CUBGW has faced since 2010. The employer forced a vote on their “final offer” that was soundly defeated with impressive participation by the members.

The corporation seized the opportunity to lock out the members.

Major issues:
• Creating a 3rd tier in the graduated wage scale where new hires would make 65% of a full wage.
• Moving senior workers to a new pension plan that will threaten their retirement security.
• A schedule that forces some employees to work every weekend without a wage premium that will increase costs for workers and reduce their quality of life.

Please send a letter to Frederic Landmeters, CEO and President of Molson Coors telling him to end the lock-out and get back to the table to negotiate a fair and reasonable contract.
