Kyrgyzstan: Stop union-busting, reinstate Zhanaydar Ahmetov

The Chinese petrol company Zhongda is attempting to destroy a local branch of the IndustriALL Global Union affiliate Mining and Metallurgy Trade Union of Kyrgyzstan. The company went from ignoring the union to open busting. At the end of August the company management fired trade union leader Zhanaydar Ahmetov, challenged the registration of the union and started to call the families of union members threatening them with dismissals if they remain union members. In December 2014, Zhongda workers created their union in full compliance with the national legislation with the aim to protect their rights, because the company did not conclude employment contracts, excessively used temporary contracts, refused to pay extra charges and benefits, and failed to provide personal protective equipment. Support our action and help us to reinstate Zhanaydar Ahmetov and stop union busting at Zhongda.
