Philippines: Tell DHL to stop union-busting

In partnership with Sentro ng mga Nagkakaisa at Progresibong Manggagawa (Center of United and Progressive Labor) SENTRO is one of the major centres in the Philippines, espousing social movement unionism. It has 85,000 members across the private and public sectors, including workers in the informal economy. SENTRO is affiliated with the International Trade Union Confederation.

Seeking to address long-standing grievances, including low wages and wage theft, workers at DHL Supply Chain's Sucat warehouse in Muntinlupa formed a union and won the certification election on 29 May 2026. Instead of bargaining with the union, management announced the warehouse's closure, claiming its supermarket-chain contract had not been renewed. Workers saw this as union busting, especially since DHL had announced in December that it had secured a three-year contract. With negotiations blocked and their jobs at risk, the workers went on strike on August 17, demanding that DHL sign a CBA and guarantee their jobs if the Sucat warehouse reopens.
